Are you Polarized?

Politically many of us are polarized; however, in photo speak the polarizing filter is a valuable tool and not something to avoid embracing.

Many of us use a polarizing filter to darken the skies so they appear a richer blue however, there are other uses for this often under utilized filter to enhance your photos.

Some examples:

Shooting through a glass window in a store front; when you use your polarizing filter it cuts the reflection down and will reveal the items behind the glass.

If you're out shooting cityscapes and want to capture some of the architecture it will reduce the glare from the building and enhance its appearance.

It also will eliminate much of the glare and reflection on water.

Enhance the greens, yellows, and reds in landscape photography and cut any atmospheric haze too.

Therefore, if you have a circular polarizer just rotate the filter until you get the desires effect or reduction or enhancement in your shot and fire away.
