Tips,Tricks, and Websites

Tips and Tricks:

Taking photographs of children is one time when you want to get down on their level.

The best shots come straight on from the child's perspective.

In addition, when shooting children (photos that is) don't use a tripod (it limits your mobility and gets in the way).

One tip is to hand them a prop, a toy or ball to make them more relaxed and at ease. Further, never ask or tell them to say cheese and smile. In my view, there's nothing worse than a grimacing kid with a fake smile.

The big caveat is IF a child really doesn't want his or her photo taken, no amount of cajoling is going to work. You may as well pack up your equipment and call it a day...!
