Don't Chase Equipment

It's easy to become enamored with some of today's latest and greatest cameras and gadgets. However, they won't make you a better photographer but they will put a dent in your budget.

Many of the new consumer point and shoots today have better technical quality and ability than all of the first generation of high end DSLR's from years ago.

The truth is you can take great shots with a simple point and shoot and you can take terrible ones with a high end Nikon or Canon DSLR.

It's YOU that makes the shot NOT the camera. Learning about the craft of photography one can get excellent results no matter what equipment you choose or your budget allows.

Today's quick tip:

When shooting outdoor portraits and your shots look a bit cool, or too blue using your auto white balance setting try changing the WB(white balance) to cloudy or shade. Uh, how come? Moving your WB on cloudy is like putting a warming filter on your camera. The cloudy WB increases the reds and yellows and you have richer, warmer shots and more natural skin tones for your subject.
